Just a brief reminder that if you need to be removed from the HEDIR, please don't send it
for the 1,100 people to see...in other words, don't send your request over the
HEDIR...send it to me at kittle@siu.edu

I know recently there were some suggestions listed on HEDIR
for effective icebreakers that people have used. I did not make
copies of the listed resources/activities.
I will be conducting a Community Health Outreach Worker training
next week and would appreciate suggestions on good icebreakers to
use with groups. I will have approximately 10 persons attending the
training. Thank you in advance.

Our Phys ED, Rec and Athletics Department at Binghamton University (NY) is
in the planning stages of developing a wellness course that would be
presented in the dormitory, rather than the classroom- considered as part
of the "area based courses" that are already being offered. Although we
teach many health/wellness courses in the classroom, we wanted this to be a
little different(maybe actually cooking with them when discussing
nutrition)- and especially to focus on the freshmen- Different faculty
would teach their area of expertise, rather than one instructor.
Is anyone offering this type of program and what components are you
covering?
Thanks for your input!
