Does anyone have any information on the cost/benefit of
having interns? Is hourly wage better than a stipend?
Also, what about insurance? Some other directors have
told me that the student is covered by the school while
they are interning but I have checked with a few schools
and this is incorrect. My company is hesitant to take
on interns without having them on the payroll because
what if they get hurt on the job...but then they dont
want to add it into my budget. Please contact me if you
have any information.

Hello HEDIRS:
I have been asked to quickly write a role description for a new position we
are creating. It is a fairly high level position, with a working title right
now of Director of Cultural Competence and Diversity. The position will
direct all efforts of a not for profit health system, with 5 hospitals and
other services in an increasingly diverse community.
If you are aware of similar job descriptions in your area, I would very much
appreciate it if you would share the actual job descriptions. It is so new to
what we are doing, I am sure I will leave important aspects of of the
description, and I am looking for any input possible. Thanks for your help.
