Subject: stories for book
I'm the author of the book that Christopher Filkins told you about, 10 Ways
the Internet Can Save Your Life. He says you are willing to share my request
for your stories about how the information and support people find on the
Internet saved their lives. Please pass this along:
Did the information and/or support you found on the Internet save your life?
If so, this author would like your story for a book to be published by
Rodale in 2002.
If this fits you, could you write me an overview of your story and how the
Internet was a lifeline? Please include the specific Web sites that helped
you. I'll follow up with questions. If I decide to use your story, I'll
email you a permission form.
If you require anonymity in the book, I can write up your story with a
pseudonym and without any identifying information. I'll need your real
names/phone/email/address myself, however, and the research dept at Rodale
will also see these and will make one phone call to you to check facts
during the editing process. But your real name will not appear in the book,
if that's your preference. (You don't need to send me any identifying
information until I know your story and decide I'd like to use it -- I'm
just letting you know now what to expect, so that you can decide whether to
offer your story.)
Please email me any questions. I look forward to hearing from you!
Best,
Joan Price
