The AAHB has as its mission to advance the practice of health education
and health promotion through health behavior research. Nearly 90
individuals have been accepted into membership. As membership council
chair I would invite you to consider applying for the AAHB. The Academy
accepts new members twice a year (January 1 and July 1).

Individuals who are interested in joining the Academy are encouraged to
visit the Academy's web page at www.aahb.org. Conferences are scheduled on
an annual basis and will focus on improving research skills. Because of
the relatively small size of this group, the Academy can hold these
meetings in unique settings. Last year we met in Santa Fe, New
Mexico...2002 will see the conference in Napa Valley, California. The
following year will be held in St. Augustine, Florida (the oldest city in
America).

I encourage you to consider applying. The Academy provides a unique forum
for individuals who are conducting research (or for those who desire to
improve their research skills). Requirements to join the Academy can be
found at www.aahb.org, or you can contact me if you have any questions.
