The American Red Cross, working in partnership with the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention, has developed a line of HIV prevention
courses. They include a basic course, one designed for African Americans
and one for Hispanics, a workplace HIV/AIDS program, and a youth
program. You can go to: http://www.redcross.org/services/hss/hivaids/ to
learn more about these programs. They are implemented through local Red
Cross chapters, and they are led by paid and volunteer instructors.

Hi Everyone!
I am teaching a 400 level course entitled "Current Health Issues"
- I would be interested in feedback on what you believe are the
most current/critical health issues today.
I have quite a bit, but feel free to include any awesome references
I should be aware of!
Thanks in advance for your input! Gail :)

Hi again,
So far I have had more people ask for a compiled list
of "current/critical health issues" than send me ideas!
Keep your feedback coming, and I will definitely post
the responses :)
Thanks! Gail

HEDIR colleagues:

I am teaching a new undergraduate Personal & Community Health course and
need help planning a "Community Health Assessment" project. In addition
to having students research information on health services offered by
the town board of health (immunizations, blood pressure screening,
etc.), I would like them to research vital statistics and health care
services for the uninsured. Can anyone direct me to resources they have
used for similar projects? Thanks.
