Jim,
Thanks for your thoughtful response. We seem to have similar inclinations
toward the HEDIR.
It's truly a shame that narrow minded people work their way into positions
of authority and then damage the good work you and others did. I drew from
your response that it was this narrow-mindedness that led to their actions
to decimate the educational standards. Perhaps that is more likely in
conservative thinking - a cogent point also reflected in Mark Temple's
response of Sunday - or is narrow-mindedness in ready supply across the
ideological spectrum?

Seems the hedir can be a petty and un-professional place sometimes.............
Hey Mark Temple,
I consider myself somewhat of a conservative, so I guess I'm just going to have to
call you a name........ Mark, I call you "FRIEND". I hope that doesn't offend
you
or any other of the "hard core hedir's" out there in hedir land. Remember, keep

Dr. Petrillo, I'm not sure it this source of information is too broad for
your purposes but an internet source provides graduate programs by subject
and then geographically. The problem is that HE, HP and Wellness are all
lumped together. However, they use Peterson's to augment program information
on the schools. It is a comprehensive listing. The address is:
Http://www.gradschools.com You click on Search for Programs then click
on Biomedical and Health then click on HE or Wellness(HP)--it doesn't matter
they both lead to the same page which is geographical. You can pick by region
or state and a listing of grad. schools will come up with basic info. which
is supplemented with a description of the program by Petersons. Hope this
helps, Gayle Rockelli, MSLS, Grad. student in PH, University of MD, College
Park

Yes we do live in interesting times...
Mom Gives Son Condoms, Faces 15 Years; Woman Charged With Failing To
Prevent Sexual Abuse
BARABOO, Wis., 7:22 a.m. EST January 16, 2001 -- A woman who allegedly
bought her 13-year-old son condoms and didn't discourage him from having
sex with his 15-year-old girlfriend is charged with failing to prevent her
child from being sexually abused. The 33-year-old woman could face up to 15
years in prison and $10,000 in fines if convicted of the felony charge.
"The prosecutor in this case, what her position is, is taking the statute
beyond its intended meaning," said the woman' s attorney, Derek Horkan of
Reedsburg.
Sauk County District Attorney Patricia Barrett declined to comment. The
case came to light in May when the boy, a Baraboo Middle School student,
told a police officer that he was worried that he had a sexually
transmitted disease, according to a criminal complaint filed in August. He
said he had sex with his girlfriend the day before and heard through
friends she had a venereal disease. The boy also said his mother knew he
was sexually active and bought condoms for him, telling him to make sure
they didn't break during intercourse, the complaint said. The woman told
police in May that she bought her son two dozen condoms a few months
earlier and discovered only a few days later that only one was left, the
complaint said. She said she didn't discourage her son from intercourse
because he was too young to understand that sex should come with love, the
complaint said.
