I am looking for any information one might have on suggestions or guidelines to

Health Educators of Louisiana and Mississippi:
After exploring several dates for the first organizational meeting of the
proposed
new regional chapter of SOPHE, I have decided to go ahead with February 22.
There are conflicts with all the dates I tried. The greatest numbers of
conflicts
are with March 1 and March 8. It is clear that no date will assure that we
can get all the important people we would like to have at this organizational
meeting.
Those of you who can, please come to the Jackson Medical Mall on February 22,
10:00 A.M.-2:30 P.M., Room 245. Lunch will be provided by the JSU Department
of Public Health. The Jackson Medical Mall is at 350 W. Woodrow Wilson Ave.,
between Bailey and Livingston Streets. Access to the parking lot is from either
Bailey or Livingston Streets. The JSU facilities are at the very south end
of the Mall, nearest Woodrow Wilson Ave.
Those who cannot attend, please send someone from your place of employment.
Spread the word of this meeting to fellow health educators that I may overlook.
Send me copies of by-laws and other organization documents that you believe
will be useful to the organization of this new SOPHE chapter. Your input will
be appreciated. If you are willing to accept nominations for any offices,
president,
VP, secretary, treasurer, delegate to National SOPHE, board member, or chair
of a committee, present this at the meeting or send this information to me prior
to February 22. For the Deep South Chapter (Louisiana & Mississippi) to become
viable, there will need to be broad participation by many of the health
educators
and health promoters living and working in these two states.
Enthusiastically,
Bill
