Subject: Range of the proposed Deep South Chapter

Health Educators from Florida and Alabama,

I had a couple of folks from Florida indicate interest in the Deep South Chapter
of SOPHE. While we in Mississippi and Louisiana have no desire to start a range
war (turf war for you urban folks), we have no problem with health educators
from another state joining us. I have maintained my membership in the Texas
Chapter of SOPHE while I am living in Mississippi. On a couple of previous
occasions, I held membership in both the Texas and Tennessee Chapters simultaneously.
The Deep South Chapter will not intentionally raid another chapter's current
or prospective members, but we will accept into membership health educators
residing outside of Mississippi and Louisiana.
