Greetings Everyone!
I need some advice or at least some folks to tell me if I have some options.
I would like to pursue my PhD at the University of Maryland - Department of
Public and Community Health. They only have fall admission and the deadline
for 2003 is February 1, 2003. Here is my problem:
I have never taken the GRE. Frankly, it scares me! :-) I was not required to
take it for my MSEd in public health. My concern is that, given the fast
approaching application deadline, I would not be able to adequately prepare
for the test in time. I really do not want to put off starting the program
another year, until 2004! Does anyone know if the GRE requirement can be
waived and if so, who waives it?
I would appreciate any suggestions or thoughts!
Thanks!

Dear listmates (please excuse any cross-posting)
My research team is trying to come up with ways to get a hold of our
target sample. We are targeting middle-school students (age 10-14?)
state-wide. However, we need to get written permission from the parents
for the students to participate in our study.
Have any of you done, read or have any ideas for specific methods for
targeting parents of youth?
Thank you for your time.

I am interested in finding out if anyone has done any research about the
effectiveness of measured walk routes at worksites in promoting walking by
employees that had not previously shown any interest in walking as a form of
physical activity. What additional supports do employees seem to need to motivate
them to use existing measured walk routes? What types of workers does this type
of intervention work for and what type just ignores the existance and the other
motivational efforts? What works? What does not work?
Thanks.
