Subject: Greetings....
Happy New Year to all.
There are a couple of items that I would like to bring to your attention.
First, based on the evaluation regarding the HEDIR last year a number of HEDIR
related items have been changed/removed. First, I have removed the following
items: The HEDIR Chatroom, the HEDIR Research Web Page (listing people's
research interest), the listing of syllabi that people have sent me to post for
others to review. Based on the survey people either didn't use it, didn't know
about it, or wouldn't use it even if they knew about it.
The HEDIR Directory and the archives are the major interests that people use
most. As a reminder, please periodically check your information
(www.hedir.org/directory) and update if need be. One can update by clicking the
link of that web page (or by going to http://www.kittle.siu.edu/subscriptions).
If the only change is an email, indicate such. If you have had a move, title
change, etc., please include that information.
Second, as you know the HEDIR has contracted with HPCAREER.net to oversee the
job announcements that are sent over the HEDIR. HPCAREER.net has undergone some
major renovation on their web page. If you are an employer and would like to
post a job on the HEDIR, go to http://www.hpcareer.net/hpc/employer/employerLogin.jsp?MemOrgID=10
If you are looking for a job, HPCAREER.net does a great service (for free).
Job seekers can go to
http://www.hpcareer.net/hpc/candidate/candidateLogin.jsp?MemOrgID=10
Third, we are seeking nominations for individuals to be considered for the HEDIR
Award 2005. More information will be coming forth shortly, but if you know of
somebody who is worthy of being nominated, please do so.
Purpose:
To recognize a health educator, or a group, who has made outstanding
contributions to the profession of health education through technology or who
has transformed the profession of health education.
Eligibility:
Any academically prepared health educator or group who has used technology to
improve health education initiatives.
As indicated, more specific information will be forthcoming. I hope to announce
the recipient(s) by AAHE time.
Thanks again and I hope you have a great year. Thanks for making the HEDIR a
truly professional discussion group.
