Department of Health Education and Recreation seeks a nationally visible, senior
scholar at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor in Health Education to
begin August 16, 2005 as part of the university's strategic faculty hiring
initiative.
Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in health education; a record of excellence in
teaching and research supported by national peer-reviewed publications and
externally-funded projects commensurate with experience; and have preferred
teaching and research interests in community health education, health issues
related to physical activity, nutrition and weight management.
Qualified candidates with teaching and research interests in other health
education areas will also be considered for this position.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate oral proficiency in the English language
as required by Illinois state law. Additional summer appointment may be
possible, contingent on funding and demand for teaching assignments.
