We know it is summer time, but please take a few minutes to respond and send
this reminder on to other interested parties.
The second of three national surveys to obtain feedback from the profession and
related stakeholders on the National Health Education Standards, PreK-12 is
available until close of business, August 3 2005, 2005. Please take the time to
provide the panel with your recommendations. This survey focuses on the proposed
revisions to the student performance indicators for each of the standards
statements.

All feedback from this survey will be forwarded to the review and revision panel

So this week does not look good for those of us in public health. Not only have
our elected leaders passed an lawsuit immunity bill for the gun industry, thee
republicans would not even insert a ban on hollow-tipped, "cop killer"
bullets.....
In addition, we now have a wonderful energy plan. Sierraclub.org has a great by

package, and $2 billion in the Administration s new nuclear risk insurance

Cost to taxpayers to conduct an invasive oil and gas inventory along the Outer
Continental Shelf (OCS) even though these coastal areas are currently under a
decades old drilling moratorium.

Total royalty payments from the oil and gas industry for deep water exploration
on public lands (Sec. 345) and for oil drilled areas off Alaska s coastline
(Section 346) since the energy bill allows the industry to forgo royalty
payments for these activities.
