CHHCS News Alert - 3/04/05
SAMHSA Cites Rise in Admissions for Marijuana Treatment:
Based on reports from states on the number of people admitted to treatment
facilities for treatment of drug abuse, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health
Services Administration (SAMHSA) said today that admissions for treatment of
primary marijuana abuse more than tripled nationally in the years 1992 to 2002
and accounted for 6 percent to 15 percent of all admissions.
