Colleagues, please note the date change of the CHES Review Course I am
giving:

The three day KDGConsulting sponsored CHES Exam Review Course at New Jersey's William Paterson University will begin on Saturday, APRIL 2, not March 26 and continue through April 16.

Class dates and time: Saturdays, 10am-5pm: April 2, 9, and 16.

I sincerely apologize for the oversight of the March 25-28 religious holiday.

Please feel free to contact me for a copy of the brochure, rate information, etc.

I would be most appreciative if those among you who passed information about this course on earlier would do the same with this note. Again, my apologies for my oversight and any inconvenience this may cause.

Salukies and Others Interested:

I support the comments made by Robert McDermott about the accomplishments of Dr. Donald Boydston, former Chair of the Department of Health Education, former Director of Athletics, and major contributor to the John Dewey Center at Southern Illinois University. Dr. "B" was indeed an inspiration to many students, particularly on the graduate level. His accomplishments make lots of Salukis proud that they have degrees from and connections with Health Education programs at SIU-C.

As an athlete at SIU when Dr. B was Athletic Director and a graduate student in Health Education when he was Chair of the department, I could not agree with Bill Cissell, Dale Ritzel and others more. Along with a few other professors at SIU at that time (Dr. Russell, Dr. Sliepcevich, Dr. Vincent and Bill Meade to mention a few), Dr. Boydston was just one of those people who were always there to guide and help us and, he was never too busy to do either. I have always been more than proud of being a 'part' of SIU and recognize that Dr. B is one of the reasons that whenever I visit Carbondale, I always somehow feel like I'm home. While those that did not know him personally may miss him for what he did, those of us that knew him will miss him for who he was as well.

While I extend my sympathies to his wife, Dr. Jo Ann Boydston, I hope she finds some comfort in knowing that he meant so much to so many of us.

Sincerely,

Dale V. Hardt, Ph.D.

When I read the message about Dr. B, I felt the huge loss of all of us who got our start from him. As was stated, he gave me a chance with less than stellar undergraduate grades. I owe my career to him, and to all the professors he hired Casey, Richardson, Grissom as well as those mentioned.
My blood runs maroon as a proud Saluki. Maybe now is the time to name the Arena after Dr. Boydston. My thoughts and prayers are with Jo Ann.----- Original Message -----
