Subject: Recognition

Folks,

In the spirit of recognizing our members for their accomplishments in health education, I'd like to congratulate Neyal Ammary for receiving two awards for a children's book she authored titled "In Mommy's Garden: A Book to Help Explain Cancer to Young Children".

The purpose of the book is to help bridge the communication gap between parents with cancer and their children. It is intended to help educate young children about cancer in developmentally and culturally appropriate ways.
The development and evaluation of this resource with cancer survivors and children has led her to receiving two awards this past year.

She was awarded 1st place in the print materials category by the American Public Health Association's public health materials contest, which judges health education, promotion and communication materials. The National Health Information Awards Program, which recognizes the nation's best consumer health information materials, awarded the book a Silver Award in the Patient Education Information category.

For more information about the book, you can contact Neyal Ammary at http://books.canyonbeach.com/inmommysgarden or InMommysGarden@yahoo.com

Congrats Neyal.
