The New York City Department for the Aging has an Alzheimer's Unit that is doing
a lot of work on caregivers these days. Perhaps they can be of assistance.
Also, there is a person at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY--Andreis Adams who
also works with caregivers.
Thanks!

Colleagues,
My sister is working on a project and has asked me for assistance identifying
academic resources in the health education field pertinent to providing care for
patients experiencing Parkinsonian-related dementia. If you know of any
resources I can send her way, I would be extremely grateful.
Please read more about her request following my signature line.
Thanks for your help,

I have a new plan for dealing with caregiver issues, and I wonder if you might
suggest some references that might help me. I'm starting work on an
autoethnography that I've provisionally titled "Negotiating Autonomy and
Dependence in Parkinson's Dementia; A Caregiver's story". I spoke to a counselor
friend, and I asked her if she thought my idea was crazy. She thought it was a
good idea.
Could you recommend some references relating to working with patients suffering
from dementia? I have several of the trade books that relate to providing care
for age-related dementia, alzheimer's disease, and caregiver issues ngeneral.
I'm more in need of writings from academia. My counsleor has suggested some
psychlogy and neuropsych resources, but I'd welcome suggestions from your Health
Ed perspective. Let me know if you have anything to suggest. I'd appreciate your
help.
