Hi Folks,
After talking to a number of people I'm making a brief modification onto the
HEDIR. Last fall I started allowing attachments to be included. The rationale
was that many people were having images onto their emails (i.e., signatures).
Prior to last September if a person would send a message over the HEDIR with an
attachment it would be bounced back to the sender indicating that it couldn't be
sent. I changed that in September hoping that it would prevent some needless
problems. What we found out is that for those who are on the Digest mode (just
one email a day from HEDIR with all of the previous day's messages) those
attachments would turn into goobly-gook (the technical name for unrecognizable
characters).and this goobly-gook would be extremely long and a general pain for
most people.
So effective today, I've reconfigured the HEDIR so that it will not accept any
more attachments. If you have any type of graphic on your email you need to do
one of two things:
1) remove the graphic
2) change the format of your email from html to plain text
If you don't you'll get your email bounced back to you. As some of you may know
I've included a graphic of my signature..I'll need to remove that from my email
prior to sending it over the HEDIR.
Sorry for any inconvenience this may bring you.

Hey all,
A while back there was a brief banter about ranking the schools of public health
so I thought I would throw in my 2 cents. I just go my alumni magazine for the
quarter and they had a short article boasting the
following:
"Students receive excellent preparation for the Certified Health Education
Specialist (CHES) Examination. In 2005 the School of Public Health was among the
top 10 schools for students/graduates taking and passing the CHES, showing an
average score of 94.44% when the National average was 79.53%."
Now Loma Linda is a wonderful Univeristy and I highy value the MPH that I got
from that institution some 17 years ago. I also have even today several mentors
and close friends from those years. LLU was a great professional program then
and, as I understand it, continues to be a fine institution. However (aside from
their international health track) I never considered LLU as a top ten school....
Until now.
Long live CHES and Long Live LLU's ranking in the top ten...
NOTE 1: This is slightly tounge in cheek NOTE 2: LLU Alums, please flame me
offline : )
