HEALTH AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT RESEARCH FELLOW The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Adolescent and School Health, is seeking an individual to assist with activities related to the association between academic achievement, health risk behaviors, and coordinated school health programs. This position will include, but is not limited to, the following
responsibilities: monitoring and synthesizing research related to academic achievement, health risk behaviors, and coordinated school health programs; drafting manuscripts related to academic achievement, health risk behaviors, and coordinated school health programs; reviewing scientific articles and other reports focused on academic achievement, health risk behaviors, and coordinated school health programs; assisting with the coordination of meetings and activities within the division and CDC; and facilitating web-based communication among CDC and CDC-funded health promotion programs. The applicant should be a masters-level graduate in public health or a related behavioral science (e.g., psychology, sociology, preventive medicine) who is interested in public health, education, and coordinated school health programs. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. This position is currently a one year fellowship. Starting salary is $45,000 plus a stipend for insurance.
