*Program Coordinator*

The Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) has an opening for a Program Coordinator. This position is responsible for multiple constituent programs that focus on the whole child, including First Amendment Schools (FAS) and healthy school communities.

 

This position:

· Monitors the implementation and operation of the First

Amendment Schools (FAS) project including oversight of the budget, public awareness events, products and publications, and curriculum and evaluation development.

· Serves as a direct school reform consultant and provides

technical assistance for FAS Network schools, ASCD staff, and others in the civic education community on implementation of FAS principles.

· Serves as team member on cross work group team focusing on

building healthy school communities worldwide.

· Supports the establishment of the healthy school communities'

networks and provides resources and technical assistance to the networks.

· Provides oversight for data collection for the healthy school

communities' work, managing the development of the data collection mechanism, reporting, and dissemination of reports.

 

We're looking for candidates who have 5-8 years progressively responsible experience in educational or appropriate business environments, preferably with health education or civic initiatives, administration or managerial experience as a staff developer, and/or recent school experience with a focus on reform and renewal. Experience providing effective whole school reform consultation, including conflict resolution, problem solving and decision making is desired. Successful candidates must be versed in K-12 educational topics and issues and budget management. Excellent training and communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential.

 

Position requires travel away from office up to 20% of time and some weekend work.
