JOB DESCRIPTION
Assistant Director, Program Development

JOB SUMMARY
Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive plans for the establishment of new programs and revisions/updates to current programs for employers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary
1. Implement the priority areas of the strategic program development schedule.
2. Perform market and competitor research and analysis.
3. Provide program development consultation and support to all departments within StayWell Health Management.
4. Evaluate operational issues to determine whether SWH is competitive and staying current with the latest trends in the large employer/comprehensive health management program market.
5. Monitor external and internal environment for development of new market segments.
6. Produce business plans for new program development.
7. Develop marketing campaigns for new programs and services. This includes formulating a specific budget and expenditure plan for each.
8. Develop training materials and sessions for new programs and services for Sales, Program Management, Call Center and other functional areas.
9. Evaluate newly-developed programs and services and revise accordingly.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education: Must possess a Master's degree. CHES certification preferred.
Training and Experience: Highly developed organizational, planning and management writing skills and oral communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others. Minimum of ten years' experience in worksite health promotion with program development and evaluation experience.


ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Ability to travel independently within the country to attend various customer meetings and tradeshows.
2. Ability to effectively converse verbally and in writing with others regarding SHM's services with benefits consultants, large employers and other health management services vendors.
3. Ability to effectively utilize StayWell's HealthGuide Health Information System, StayWell Online system and other business applications.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Ability to process vague, abstract verbal and written instructions to create program development plans for SHM.
2. Ability to work under stress, interruptions and tight deadlines.
3. Independent judgment to determine project guidelines, purpose, follow-through and completion.
4. Ability to understand financial reports including budgetary guidelines and project expenditures.

ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL SKILLS
1. Ability to converse in a knowledgeable manner on various SHM services and sell program/services opportunities to prospective clients 2. Ability to create strategic and tactical plans for programs and services.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
1. Ability to interact effectively with benefits consultants, large employer's HR, benefits, occupational health and wellness staff and SHM staff to provide program development services.
2. Ability to interact effectively with employees in order to direct work flow, assess performance and assign duties.
