Colleagues,
A request for help.
Mal Goldsmith (1998, IEJHE) published a fine interview with Robert Russell. In this interview Bob provided perspective on his career.
Reading the interview, I could hear the echoes of health education professionals who were influenced by Bob as a teacher, health educator, author, singer, etc. It seems particularly appropriate that the many health educators influenced by Bob have an opportunity to give voice to their experience.
I will attempt to compose a piece which illustrates and integrates the main themes and models Bob wrote about in his career. For
example: Wellsprings Model of Wholistic Health, Ecological Model, Spiritual Dimension of Health, Risk taking and Health, Death and Health, Environmental Health, Health and humor, fun, joy were all ideas Bob promoted. Bob often taught by modeling and creating educational experiences. I am asking for your help. If you would share an educational or professional experience you had with Bob that illustrates his teachings, I will do my best to demonstrate the depth and breath of his impact on people in the profession.

And, well yes, Bob suggested six years ago I write this now. You could say this is an assignment. Please e-mail me your Bob Experiences to petosa.1@osu.edu.

Thanks for sharing,
Rick Petosa
