I don't know if you are looking for services for YOU or OTHERS in Maryland.

Or if you are looking for degree programs that offer services to the hearing impaired.

If in Maryland, here is the link to the Maryland School for the Deaf. I am sure you could contact them, and they can help you find resources in your

area: http://www.msd.edu/

If it is finding programs in general with deaf services, then I know of one (but I am sure there are others). Teachers College-Columbia University in NY City offers not only services for their hearing impaired students, providing them with note-takers, and someone to sign the class for them, but they also have a graduate degree program in Deaf Education. They have graduate program in Health & Behavior Studies that include Health Education, as well as Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education...and other special student service programs.

For more information on the health and behavior studies department and

programs: http://www.tc.edu/hbs/programs.asp

Health Education program: http://www.tc.columbia.edu/hbs/HealthEd/

Deaf Education program: http://www.tc.columbia.edu/hbs/DeafEd/

To contact the TC student services office for those with disabilities:

http://www.tc.columbia.edu/oasid/staff.html

If getting information on programs outside of Maryland was not your question, and you need to know what resources are in Maryland for ASL, and if contacting the Maryland School for the Deaf is not enough, then you could contact the coordinators at the TC programs listed above anyway, and ask them if they have any resources for you.

Good luck.

I am looking for a place that offers services specifically for adults with hearing impairments. Care-givers who know American Sign Language, and can help either in adaptation to recent hearing loss and the special needs of these people.

I have to visit a site for a class I am taking in Rockville, Maryland.

Thank you for your help.
