The University of Montana, Missoula, invites nominations and applications for the position as Dean of the School of Education.
Located in the scenic western Montana County of Missoula, which has a population of approximately 100,000, the University offers a full range of academic programs through the doctorate, enrolls 13,500 students served by some 3,000 faculty and staff, and has the designation as a research-oriented, doctorate-granting institution. Reporting directly to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean is the academic, administrative, and professional leader of the School. Duties include general administration, fund raising, directing the academic programs, and serving as the School's advocate on and off campus.
Candidates must have demonstrated leadership experience, communication skills, and collaborative and collegial working relationships; hold an earned doctorate from an accredited institution, with accomplishments in research and teaching sufficient to qualify as a tenured full professor; have a minimum of five years of administrative experience involving planning, budgeting, and program development; and successful experience in working with faculty governance. The salary is commensurate with experience and competitive.
Application materials must include a letter of interest, a curriculum vitae, and names, addresses, and telephone numbers of five professional references who will be contacted only after candidates are notified.
