Salukis are getting a great Texas public health professional as Chancellor in Dr. Fernando Trevino. Dr. Trevino has been active in public health for a long time. He is a former Executive Director of the Americn Public Health Association and Dean, School of Public Health at the University of North Texas. I have enjoyed some opportunities to collaborate with him. We worked together to bring the headquarters of NARO-IUHPE to Fort Worth. I first became aware of Dr. Trevino when assumed a dean position in the school of allied health at Southwest Texas State University, which is now known as Texas State University. That was about 17 or 18 years ago.

We are gathering information on pre-service and in-service courses and/or other forms of continuing education programs for school administrators on school health policies and programs.=20

Although we are aware there are a number of leadership trainings that school administrators attend as part of a team (e.g. ACS' Leadership Institute), we are looking specifically for programs designed and offered through schools of education.

If you know of any such courses/programs, please send as much information as you have, such as program contact, institution, and/or website.
