Subject: Nemours Health and Prevention Services Childhood Obesity Policy Conference

Dear Colleagues,

Nemours Health and Prevention Services is hosting a conference on child health promotion, October 23-24, 2008 in Wilmington Delaware. The theme this year is Advocacy, Policy and Progress in the Fight Against Childhood Obesity. We believe this to be one of the nation's only professional conferences devoted to childhood obesity prevention. We hope you can join us for what promises to be a unique educational and networking opportunity.

Keynoting the conference is Angela Glover Blackwell, Founder and CEO of PolicyLink. The capstone speaker is Geoffrey Canada, author and President/CEO of Harlem Children's Zone. Three additional general sessions, 12 breakout sessions and more than 30 speakers of regional and national prominence will be highlighting the role of policy and advocacy in creating healthier environments for children and youth. Children's health advocates will be tackling the question of how to implement policy changes that will put healthy eating and physical activity for all children at the top of the agenda of key decision makers at the national, state and local levels.

For more information and to register for the conference go to the Nemours Health & Prevention Services website at www.GrowUpHealthy.org , or check out the conference website at  http://www.nemours.org/department/nhps/annual-conference.html

We hope to see you in Delaware this Fall.

Best wishes,

Karyl
