HEDIRites,

I have a personal question for those of you with doctorate degrees (PhD, EdD) and/or those working/have worked in academia.  You can reply to me directly at deblafler@charter.net so as not to clutter others' inboxes.

1. What are your experienced pros/benefits and cons/costs for getting or having a doctorate degree?
2. What are your experienced pros/benefits and cons/costs for working in academia?
3. Was getting a doctorate and working in academia all that you thought it would be?
4. Has having a doctorate been positive/beneficial career wise outside of academia?
