Dear Colleagues,
I will be doing some work with individuals are overweight and obese. People
will vary in terms of their readiness to take action to manage their weight (change eating and/or increase physical activity or exercise).
I am looking for three recommendations:
1. I'm wondering if you can recommend a non-proprietary standard assessment for weight, nutrition, physical activity?
2. Can you also recommend a food diary format that works well. For
example, do you keep diary logging simple or do you have people document mood and level of hunger also.
3. Finally, when measuring change, what do you look for? Do you only measure for the obvious such as weight loss and bmi or do you break it down to reflect changes in client progress regarding readiness to change, changes in diet, etc.
I appreciate any information that will be helpful.
Kind regards,
Jacqueline Rubino, MPH, CHES
