The health education program focuses on education, illness public health, and behavioral principles to facilitate health education, health promotion, and disease prevention in a variety of professional settings, capsule including schools, hospitals, non-profit organizations, companies, government, and colleges. A degree in health education will prepare students to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate health education and promotion interventions to facilitate behavioral changes of individuals, groups, and communities to achieve personal, environmental, and social health and wellbeing.

The masters of education in health education prepares both recent graduates and experienced professionals from a variety of fields with the skills for a career as a health education specialist. The program offers small evenings classes for working professionals pursuing graduate study part-time or full-time.  A minimum of 30 graduate credits is required for completion of the degree. A 3-credit, research-based culminating writing experience is required. The program requires students to complete 21 credits in prescribed core courses and 9 credits in elective courses.  Beginning Fall 2016, all core courses will be offered as hybrid courses.
