BS in Health Education and Promotion

Health education and promotion specialists are leading the nation’s health improvement efforts. The Health Education program at Plymouth State University prepares students to work in a variety of educational, search community and medical settings, sovaldi sale  including public and private schools, hospitals, managed care organizations, insurance companies, volunteer agencies and public and private work sites.

M.Ed.in Health Education  

The Master of Education (MEd) in Health Education focuses on the development and delivery of health education in schools, clinical and corporate settings, and community service organizations. A graduate degree in health education will prepare you for a career in teaching, counseling, or consulting in various health- and wellness-related fields.

Coursework includes topics such as community health, sexuality, mental and emotional health, eating disorders, fitness and nutrition, disease, substance use and abuse, and consumer health.. Courses in the program will prepare you to become a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) following examination by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing. It is predicted that the employment of health educators and community health workers is projected to grow 13 percent from 2014 to 2024, faster than the average for all occupations.

In addition to the major, three concentrations are offered: K–12 Certification, Health Promotion, an Eating Disorders focus area for health, mental health professionals, school professionals and those interested in education/prevention/ outreach.
