The Community/Public Health program at the University of Central Oklahoma is a SABPAC approved program which holds the distinction of being the first (and currently only) program at an academic institution in the state of Oklahoma with an Eta Sigma Gamma chapter. Public health professionals serving on the Community/Public Health Advisory Council refer to graduates of this program as “career ready.” UCO Community/Public Health students are engaged in undergraduate research and service learning projects throughout the metro. Study abroad opportunities are also available. Students must complete a 320-hour internship prior to graduation. Coursework focuses on CHES responsibilities and health promotion among diverse populations with an emphasis on social determinants of health.University of Central Oklahoma
